Hi!
I’m Ola, and in the photo are my 3 most favorite people in the world, Zoe, Leisa and Erik! The first 27 years of my life I spent in Norway, and since 2007 I’ve called Australia my home.
There is one more member of our family, an absolute unit called Kip. Here he is:
I’ve spent a long time in the tech industry, doing computer programming to build tools and applications for several companies. In the later years of my tech career I’ve had the opportunity to lead engineering teams which renewed my passion for the industry. The work I love the most is 1 on 1 coaching/mentoring, career planning, helping create psychologically safe team environments and to deliver excellent software together as a productive team.
I also spent alot of my time as a team lead to upskill on coaching, mentoring and communication, completed a lot of courses and read heaps of books on everything from mental health/psychology to attention/focus to business processes and project management.
The long career has given me great insights into how I want to work and also to live my life, and I’ve had numerous conversations with colleagues (and friends and family) throughout the years about how to live life to the fullest. I always come to a similar conclusion that I feel the most happy when I’m helping other people and coaching is the best way I know how to give back. Sometimes just being an active listener is the best way and I’ve had so many breakthroughs both as a coach and coachee which I really appreciate and want to share with as many people as possible!
I’ve got a certification in REBT (Rational emotive behavior therapy) which is one of the range of techniques I can make use of helping you reach your goals. If you don’t have clear goals, don’t worry, we can find those together throughout our coaching!
Hobbies – mid life crisis 😉
We spend a lot of time together as a family, visiting parks watching the kids play while we have a coffee, occasional day trips and vacations. The kids are into swimming and soccer which also takes up some of our time!
I really enjoy aviation, it’s been a life long dream of mine to fly helicopers and planes, and the best part is to take friends, family and coaching clients for a symbolic soaring amongst the clouds!!
I also zoom around on my Onewheel skateboard which I’ve only fallen off twice after going a total of >2500Km. My kids usually ask to come with me riding their scooters, sometimes I say yes, but often I need the little bit of me time floating around for 30 minutes to recharge my mental battery.
Hobbies are in my opinion a very important thing to have and lack of hobbies can be a sign of something being a bit out of balance in your life, and sometimes you don’t know what you’re interested in before you jump into something new. Maybe I can help you figure out what your ideal hobby would be?! Let’s chat!
